[Bug]: keyboard layout is not being respected #7995

Description

Before submitting

  • I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
  • I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.

Area

apps/desktop

Steps to reproduce

  1. install colemak-dh keyboard layout and use that on macos as the default
  2. open t3 code
  3. try to paste something INTO the app (eg a github issue link for a prompt) using cmd+v while using this layout
  4. Instead of the text being pasted into the prompt box, the left sidepanel toggles

Expected behavior

I expect to be able to paste text into prompts using cmd+v while using the colemak layout.

B letter (as in cmd+b) on colemak layout becomes the V letter. expectation is that using this layout I could paste text like in any other app. currently the app does not respect my keyboard layout and still interprets my V letter as B (qwerty equivalent), thus opening and closing the left sidepanel.

Actual behavior

The sidebar keeps toggling

Impact

Blocks work completely

Workaround

I currently switch to a qwerty layout, paste my text, switch back to colemak. PITA and a productivity killer.
