Android issue reg. meta-data for provider

I'm using Expo (with expo-file-system/next) and have installed @react-native-documents/viewer@2.0.0 and use its viewDocument function. iOS works like a charm, but Android keeps giving me this error:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Couldn't find meta-data for provider with authority com.domain.me.provider

The error is not a part of known errorCodes.
I can see the requested file in the Device Explorer.

What have I tried?

• Upgraded expo-file-system from ~18.1.11 (I'm on Expo 53) to ~19.0.17
• Added android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE to app.json's expo.android.permission
• Used emulator with Android API 34 in stead of 36

Am I missing anything in my setup?

Sure, if I can make patches work with EAS :)
The error rather the same:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Couldn't find meta-data for provider with authority <my.app.domain>.reactnativedocumentviewer.provider

plus I really recommend to learn using patches with https://pnpm.io/cli/patch

you'll need to use it at some point 100%

Yes, 2.0.2 does the job!
It solves the issue and I have reverted adding android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and upgrading expo-file-system
