Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Node.js >= 20
• pnpm >= 9
• Docker (for local PostgreSQL)

Setup

# Clone the repo
git clone git@github.com:CopilotKit/outpost.git
cd outpost

# Install dependencies
pnpm install

# Start PostgreSQL
docker compose up -d

# Set up environment
cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env with your values

# Generate Prisma client and push schema
pnpm db:generate
pnpm db:push

# Seed the database
pnpm db:seed

# Start development
pnpm dev

Key Commands

Documentation

The docs site lives in apps/docs/ and is a static HTML site (no build step). To preview locally:

cd apps/docs
npx serve . -l 4000

Then open http://localhost:4000.

Contributing

1. Fork the repo and create a feature branch
2. Make your changes with clear, descriptive commits (plain English, no conventional prefixes)
3. Run pnpm test && pnpm lint && pnpm typecheck to verify
4. Open a PR against main
