Proposed solution

A registry plugin over the Informix wire protocol or the CSDK client library. Server name, host, port, database, user and locale on the form, since Informix needs INFORMIXSERVER and a locale to connect at all. Databases, tables, views, procedures and sequences in the sidebar.
