[Bug]: "Check for Updates" displays an obviously wrong update version number, web links silently fail

What happened?

When I click the "Check for Updates" button in an attempt to update to VirtualBox 7.2.18, the following is displayed:

I'm fairly certain "Hi" is not a VirtualBox version. The "virtualbox.org" and "there" links both do nothing when clicked.

How can we reproduce this?

1. Launch an older version of VirtualBox.
2. Click File > Check for Updates...
3. When the pop-out sidebar appears indicating a new version of VirtualBox is available, click the notification that appears to expand it.
4. See wrong version number.
5. Try clicking the displayed links. Both links do nothing when clicked.
