The hoveranywhere and clickanywhere layout properties were added to plotly.js in plotly/plotly.js#7707 and first released in v3.5.0 in April 2026, but don't seem to be mentioned in the docs anywhere besides the figure reference page.
They should be mentioned on the hover events page, at the very least:
