Explain:
Pixeltable introduces a declarative multimodal data engine approach to Python AI applications. Instead of managing standalone vector databases alongside external ETL pipelines, Pixeltable stores structured tables with native multimodal media types (images, video, audio, documents), automatically computes embeddings and LLM transforms incrementally upon insertion, and exposes similarity search directly in SQL-like expressions. With 1.6k+ GitHub stars and active production adoption, it provides a unified database layer for multimodal AI and RAG applications.
